Noro Squared
Designed by Wannietta Prescod of Knit Your Way
Photo by Wannietta Prescod of Knit Your Way
This is a perfect project for sampling Noro's great colourways and using up any leftover balls of Kureyon (or Silk Garden) that you may have about. Given the nature of these yarns and the effect of the mitered squares, you can easily use up part balls by splicing them with other part balls.
Adding squares of a solid-coloured worsted weight yarn adds to the design possibilities and stash-busting ability of this pattern.
MEASUREMENTS: 20cm (8”) square
YARN: 1 ball of Noro Kureyon (or Silk Garden) will make 2 - 20cm squares, with a small amount remaining (which can be used for sewing together squares or as a fringe).
A lap robe (approx. 24” x 36”) will require 6 balls
An afghan (approx. 32” x 56”) will require 14 balls

Repeat above 4 rows, ending with a row 3. At this point you may decide to finish off the square or using this remaining stitch as a first stitch and pick up 35 more stitches across the top of this square, then cast on 35 more. Continuing from row 1, you will complete a square that is attached to the first one.
Complete as many squares as required for your afghan size. Then have fun arranging (and re-arranging) them.
