Fiddlesticks Knitting
Dorothy Siemens
Tina Shawl
This Shetland-style square shawl uses traditional Shetland lace patterns. The construction is simple - a central square is knit, then stitches are picked up all around and worked on circular needles, after which the lace edging is added. Patterns used include fir cone, dewdrops, beads, fan diamonds, and ladders. It is knitted with a very fine 2-ply merino yarn, giving it an appealing softness and drape.
