Hand & Machine Knitter

When I was around 7 years old, my mother only knew and taught me the knit stitch. But she was an active crocheter, and taught me how to crochet at that age as well. I learned to cast on, cast off, and the stocking stitch, from my mother's free how to knitting pamphlet. I finally decided at the age of 14 to knit a beginner's sweater pattern for myself, instead of just 'squares' as my mother calls them. Unfortunately, I never learned how to knit and purl on the same row to be able to do the ribbing, and I never increased nor decreased. So at my high school library, I had to get knitting books on how to do those things.
180 Evergreen Trees
Scarves have been very popular these past few years. That is why I designed and knitted an artistic scarf for myself. I used about 60 shades of green coloured wool yarns. I knitted the scarf then hand duplicated the trees. Since there are 180 trees, I named this scarf “180 Evergreen Trees” scarf.

I wore it to the Creativ Festival’s 20th anniversary in the fall of 2007. In the scarf there is an optical illusion of white, greys, yellows, blues, and browns also but only green colours were used. Most of the yarns were bought at my favourite yarn store called Romni Wools, located in Toronto.
