Welcome to Georgetown Yarn and Crafts. We are pleased that you have dropped by for a visit. Please take your time and enjoy wandering through the shop – exploring our 5 cozy rooms – located in a 1950s converted home.
You will find nearly 100 different quality yarns. There are lots of out of the ordinary fibers - alpaca, bamboo, cashmere, merino, soft acrylics, 100% wool for felting, superwash wool, sock yarns with bamboo, aloe vera, seacell, silk and many other fantastic choices.
Each room features a different weight of yarn for easy selection. Our yarn bins are full with all kinds of enticing yarns from Cabin Fever, Diamond Yarns, Fleece Artist, Handmaiden, Kertzer, Nova, Plymouth Yarn Company, Sirdar, Skacel, Sublime, Trekking and many others.
In our large front room, you will find our “wall of needles” – addi TURBO, Brittany, Denise Interchangeable needles and Aero. We also have Clover crochet hooks. There is an interesting selection of buttons - including ceramic and novelty - to enhance your finished projects.

We have lots of gadgets that you will love – Bagsmith project bags, Clover knitting accessories, Eucalan woolwash, Knit Klips, SOAK woolwash, and lots of other fun and useful items a knitter/crocheter just has to have!!
You will find patterns, patterns and more patterns in every room including the bookshelves in the hallway. Pattern support is very important. We carry leaflets and books by Ann Norling, Cabin Fever, Diamond Yarns, eweCanknit, Fibretrends, Infiknit, KnittingAtKNoon, Leisure Arts, Maddy Laine, Plymouth Yarn Co., Sirdar, Kertzer, Stylecraft, Vermont Fibers, plus many other publishers. We also have all the latest “knitting” novels. There is also a very good selection of hard-cover books covering many topics related to knitting, crocheting and felting.
Attractively displayed around the shop there are over 100 handcrafted sweaters, scarves, socks, blankets, shawls, hats, etc. - just waiting to be admired.
We have a unique assortment of knitting themed items – pewter earrings and brooches (made in Canada), one of a kind zipper pulls, calendars and other fun items. It is time to treat yourself.

For children and young adults we have numerous instructional books with easy and fashionable designs for them to create.
We offer a wide assortment of knitting and crocheting classes. Please call us for information.You will find an area in the shop where you can sit and knit or study a pattern. Little ones can play with our toys while Mummy or Grandma is busy deciding on their next project.
Wednesday afternoon is Knit and Sip time. Please come and join us for this social/knitting time. Be sure to bring your latest project with you.
Georgetown Yarn & Crafts hosted the first KNIT FOR THE CURE Celebration in Canada in 2005. That year we raised over $6,000.00 and in 2006 it was $12,000.00!! 2007 was even more successful - almost $16,000.00!! All proceeds are donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
The shop is the contact for the Halton Hands in Motion Knitting and Crocheting Guild. The Guild meets the second Thursday evening of each month from September to June. New members are always welcome.
Georgetown Yarn and Crafts is very community oriented. As a result nearly 900 blankets, 1300 pairs of mittens and hundreds of dolls have been made by our customers. All these items are donated locally.

Many of our customers come from communities surrounding Georgetown - Acton, Brampton, Burlington, Caledon, Cambridge, Eden Mills, Erin, Guelph, Hillsburg, Milton, Mississauga, Oakville, Orangeville, Rockwood and even Toronto. They think that it is wonderful to have a quality yarn shop within an easy driving distance. Please call for directions. We are very easy to find and have lots of convenient parking. Many of our customers describe our shop as a “candy shop” for knitters and crocheters. They just love to visit and see what is new!!
Our customers are very important to us. We do a lot of special orders and even mail orders when requested.
Diane and Bob Crawford have owned and operated Georgetown Yarn and Crafts for nearly 15 years. Diane has been in the knitting business for more than 27 years. She is seldom seen without knitting in her hands.
Now that you have visited the shop on-line, we hope that you will come for a real visit. We know that you will be inspired by all our wonderful yarns, patterns and samples.
