Welcome to Georgetown Yarn and Crafts. We are pleased that you have dropped by for a visit. Please take your time and enjoy wandering through the shop exploring 5 cozy rooms located in a 1950s converted home.
You will discover nearly 100 different quality yarns. The fibres are amazing - alpaca, bamboo, cotton, merino, milk, soft acrylic, superwash wool, plus many other fantastic blends.
Each room features a different weight of yarn for easy selection. Our yarn bins, shelves & baskets are overflowing with enticing yarns from Berroco, Cabin Fever, Diamond Yarns, Fleece Artist, Handmaiden, Kertzer, Mirasol, Misti International, Nova, Old Mill Knitting Company, Plymouth Yarn Company, Sirdar, Skacel, Trekking, Wisdom & others.
In our large front room, you will find our “wall of needles” - addi TURBO & Brittany. For the crocheter, there are Clover crochet hooks. Our interesting selection of buttons - including novelty, handcrafted wood & mother of pearl - will enhance your finished projects. |

Knitters love gadgets - Bagsmith project bags, Clover knitting accessories, Eucalan Woolwash, Stitchkeepers and numerous other unique & useful items a knitter/crocheter just have to have!!
Wow - patterns & more patterns throughout the shop including bookshelves in the hallway & in the back room. We know that pattern support is extremely important so we carry hundreds of leaflets from companies such as Ann Norling, Berroco, Cabin Fever, Diamond Yarns, Dolce Knits, Fibretrends, Infiknit, KnittingAtKNoon, Knitting Pure & Simple, Leisure Arts, Maddy Laine, Plymouth Yarn Co., Sirdar, Kertzer, Stylecraft, Vermont Fibres, plus many other designers There is an excellent selection of the latest hard-cover knitting books for your knitting pleasure.
Attractively displayed around the shop you will discover over 100 handcrafted sweaters, scarves, socks, blankets, shawls, hats, etc. that are just waiting to be admired. It will be hard for you to decide which one(s) you would love to create.
Treat yourself from our unique assortment of knitting themed items - charm bracelets, calendars, coffee mugs, earrings, socks, etc. Oh, yes, gift certificates are also available - the perfect gift! |

For all ages wishing to learn to knit or crochet you will find numerous instructional books with easy & fashionable designs to really inspire you.
Learning “something new” in the knitting world is always exciting. We offer a wide assortment of workshops that we are sure you will be interested in taking.
There is now a super comfy couch in the front room where you can sit to study a pattern or just relax & sit & knit. The couch is a great place for “hubby” to sit while waiting for you to finish your shopping. Little ones will find a toy box to keep them busy while Mummy or Grandma are being inspired.
Keep Wednesday afternoons available & join us for Knit & Sip. This is a social time & you may even get some knitting accomplished!
Georgetown Yarn & Crafts hosted the first KNIT FOR THE CURE Celebration in Canada in 2005. We are proud to say that through our celebrations we have donated over $46,500.00 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
“Community” is very important to our shop Thanks to our customers over 1000 blankets & over 1500 pairs of mittens have been donated locally. Also, hundreds of knitted teddy bears have been sent to Doctors Without Borders. |

Our customers say that it is definitely worth the drive to visit our shop. They travel from Acton, Brampton, Burlington, Caledon, Cambridge, Eden Mills, Erin, Guelph, Hillsburg, Milton, Mississauga, Oakville, Orangeville, Rockwood & even Toronto. They think that it is wonderful to have a quality yarn shop within an easy driving distance. Please call for directions. We are very easy to find & have lots of convenient parking.
Many of our customers describe our shop as a “candy shop” for knitters & crocheters. They just love to come for a visit to see what is new & there is always “something new!!
Our customers are very important to us & we treat them all like friends. We are more than willing to do special orders & mail orders when requested.
We (my husband Bob & myself) have owned/operated Georgetown Yarn & Crafts for over 16 years. My Mother taught me to knit when I was a Brownie & I have been knitting ever since. I have nearly 30 years experience in the retail knitting business.
Our shop is the contact for the Halton Hands in Motion Knitting & Crocheting Guild. They meet the second Thursday evening of each month & new members are always welcome!
